March 19 "The Struggle Is Real"

Theme: Trusting God during financial, career, or family challenges.

Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” —

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV), “Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you. 1Peter 5:7.

Life has a way of testing our faith, especially when we face financial struggles, career setbacks, or family hardships. It’s easy to feel like you are drowning. In these moments, doubt creeps in, and we wonder if God sees us, hears our prayers, or even cares about our pain. The weight of uncertainty can be overwhelming, making it tempting to take matters into our own hands instead of waiting on Him. Fear whispers that you’re alone, and that things won’t get better, and that God is distant. The truth is, God is near and deeply cares for you.

God doesn’t ask us to trust him blindly. In psalms 34: 8 (NIV), he invites us to taste and see that the Lord is good. Our heavenly father knows that we need to experience him in a personal way to really know and trust Him. but how often do we fail to turn to the one who not only knows exactly what to do, but always wants the very best for us, that which is for our eternal best.

Peter’s words remind us to cast all our anxieties on Him, not just the small ones, but the big overwhelming burdens too. 1Peter 5:7. The same God who fed Elijah through a raven, who provided manna in the wilderness, and who calmed the raging storm with His word (Mark 4:35-41) is the same God walking with you now.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us that trusting God means surrendering our need for control. He never promised a life without trials, but He did promise His presence, His provision, and His guidance. Trusting Him doesn’t mean we won’t struggle, but it means we believe He is working behind the scenes, even when we don’t see it.

Your struggle is not the end of your story. It’s the time to trust God more deeply, to let go of control, and to rest in the fact that He is still on the throne.

Think about Joseph in the Bible. He faced betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and imprisonment, yet he remained faithful. In the end, God elevated him to a position of influence, not just for his own sake, but to save many lives. What if your current struggle is the very thing God is using to shape you for something greater?

Reflection Questions:

In what area of your life are you struggling to trust God?

How can you surrender control and lean on His promises today?

Can you recall a time when God worked things out for your good, even when it seemed impossible?

                                                            Power Texts

Psalms 27:14 – Wait on The Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait I say on the Lord.

James 1:2-4 - My breathren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have it perfect work that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - My Grace is sufficient for you. My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Prayer: Father, I come before You with a heavy heart, struggling to trust You in the midst of my challenges. Help me to surrender my worries about finances, career, and family to You. Remind me that You are my provider, my guide, and my peace. Strengthen my faith to believe that You are working all things together for my good. Help me to remember to give praise to You in all things, knowing that You are in the midst of them, remind me that You have redeemed me and I am Yours and nothing is more important than that. I know when I pass through the water You will be with me and the river will not overflow me. When I walk through the fire I will not be burned, nor will the flames touch me (Isaiah 43:1-2) because you are a good God and You have sent your Holy Spirit to comfort and help me. God of hope, fill me with all joy and peace and faith so that I will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for sending Your Holy Spirit to be my Comforter and Helper. Remind me of that in the midst of my difficult times, in Jesus’ name amen.
