September 29: Opposite Outcome

Key Text: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28) KJV

Do you believe there are times when God allows us to go through certain experiences to prepare us for the next steps in our journey? We go through tests so we can have a testimony. We face pain so we can sing a song of victory. We endure trials so we can triumph in Jesus.

Sometimes we walk through sickness, not because God has abandoned us, but so we are drawn closer to the Great Physician—the Balm in Gilead, the Sympathizing Jesus.

At times, our surroundings become uncomfortable just to keep us on our knees. Friends may begin to act strangely, just so we can see who they really are. Opportunities may appear blocked, but it is because God has other plans that are far better than our own.

We may not always understand the process, but God calls us to trust the process. Trust is not always easy, especially when the storm is raging and the answers seem delayed. But it is in the process that God is shaping us, molding us, and preparing us for His greater purpose.

  • He is developing us

  • He is strengthening us

  • He is positioning us for what is next

Can I tell someone right now—trust the process. Hold on. The storm may be raging. Your heart may be racing. Your peace may feel threatened. But hold on.

Do not fix your eyes on what others have done to you, but on what God is doing in you. Do not dwell on what has been taken from you, but on what God is preparing for you.

The Word promises in Hebrews 13:5, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Even when the night feels long, even when the weight feels heavy, God has you covered.

So hold on, somebody. The battle may be raging, but the outcome will be different. The pain will turn into praise. The test will become a testimony. The trial will end in triumph. The opposite outcome is already secured in Christ Jesus.

Prayer

Father, we thank You that even when life feels uncertain, You are working all things together for our good. Teach us to trust the process, to rest in Your presence, and to believe that the outcome You have prepared is greater than anything we could imagine. Strengthen us to hold on through the storm and remind us that You will never leave us nor forsake us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
