Faith That Steps Without Seeing

Key Text: Genesis 15:6 “Abram believed the LORD, and He credited it to him as righteousness.”
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 Faith often means stepping forward with limited details; sometimes with no details at all. There are moments when God gives a promise, a nudge, or a direction and simply invites us to trust Him. Yet we can hesitate, leaning on people’s opinions, our own understanding, or what feels safer instead of trusting God at His word.
Abraham/s life reminds us that faith can move even when the path is unclear. Let’s explore one of his most familiar stories
Abraham followed God’s command, even when it didn’t make sense. When he took his only son up the mountain to sacrifice him, it wasn’t because he understood everything, it was because he trusted God completely. Abraham believed that God would provide a way. He had such a relationship with God that he recognized His voice, and when God said, “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” Abraham stopped immediately.
Stepping out in faith is not only about moving forward, but also about staying attentive; being still and listening for the next instruction.
One of the most powerful parts of Abraham’s story is this: God’s provision was already in place. A ram was caught in the bushes—not created in the moment, but already there. That means before Abraham ever climbed the mountain, God had already prepared the provision.
That realization should give us hope. It reminds us that God is already ahead of our situations. And it leads to a personal question: What “ram in the bushes” has God already placed in your life that you haven’t noticed yet?
Like Abraham, you may be walking toward something uncertain, but God’s provision is not uncertain. God already has a plan. He already has a promise. He already has an answer prepared, even before the need shows up. Philippians 4:19 says: “And my God will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
It can be difficult to step out for what we cannot see. But today we are invited to obey God’s Word, to listen for His direction, and to trust Him even when it would “make more sense” to do something else.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for reminding us through Your Word that we can trust You. Thank You that Your provision for our lives has already been made. Help us to step out in faith, knowing You are a God who never fails. Teach us to trust Your voice, trust Your timing, and trust the plans You have for us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Help me Lord to step out in faith trusting In you completely
