January 20: Living Out Your Faith

 Living Out Your Faith

Theme: Trusting God to Calm Fears and Bring Peace

Written by: Kerry Ann Batchu-Hamilton

Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Life is often not as it seems. You might be smiling on the outside but crying for help deep inside. There’s a saying: “Today you are up, but tomorrow you may be down.” Thus, even during the toughest journeys of life, I stand resolute for God. How do I remain steadfast despite life's roller-coaster rides? By putting my trust in You, Lord! I draw courage from Your Word and strive to maintain my spiritual integrity.

My human fragility often makes me fearful as I tread this pilgrim path, but I am reminded of Your promise:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

This passage brings immediate calmness to my soul and equips me to be a testimony to others. God is truly a loving and caring Father. Even in my moments of chaos, He can restore peace and clarity.

One of my deepest fears is losing my soul. Yet, my inward desire cries out to my faithful God, asking Him to deliver me from wrong choices. I plead with God for a pure heart that brings the peace that surpasses all understanding. As I walk this Christian journey, I declare my trust in God to calm my fears.

Reflecting on my past, particularly the pain of losing loved ones, I recall moments when doubt crept in. My heart would race with unbelief as the enemy whispered lies, tempting me to give up. But my faithful Father would not allow it. He led me to find refuge in His Word:
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9, NKJV).
Even in the darkest clouds of my life, I know I can trust God to deliver me from the enemy’s snares. I believe with all my heart that God has a perfect plan for my life. I will endeavor to trust His reasons and actions, even when I cannot understand His ways.

Today, like Job, I proclaim:
"I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another."
I place all my trust, faith, and confidence in God, knowing He will work everything out in the right way. Lord, may Your will always be done.
