March 31 El Shaddai: God Almighty

Image
Theme: Trusting in the Power and Might of God in Life’s Challenges. Tahshiek Francis Kings SDA Church And he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you for My strength is made perfect in weakness” …  2 Corinthians 12: 9 If we are to be like Jesus, if we are to strive to be like our Father in heaven who gives grace to everyone, why can’t I give grace to those who grieve me, hurt me, bruise me, batter me, shun me, reject me, betray me? I must never forget what the Lord has done for me and extend it to others.  He forgives me daily; he forgives us daily. Indeed, you know when someone is hurting you presumptuously, that is something you will deal with in a different Godly way.  If we strive and live our lives daily for God, then surely His grace will be sufficient for us to tap into to extend to others.  That’s when we will gain strength through the surmountable challenges we face.  We have to learn to trust in the power and might of God; it wi...

March 30 Jehovah Rapha: The Lord Who Heals

Image
Theme:  Finding spiritual, emotional, and physical healing in God.     Sharon Campbell Shepherdess CIC Kings SDA Church God is called Jehovah Rapha, The Lord Who Heals, in the Bible. Exodus 15:26 declares: "I am the Lord that healeth thee" (KJV) A Personal Journey Through Loss and Healing In 2024, I lost my beloved aunt to cancer. After numerous treatments, the cancer went into remission, and she enjoyed good health for a few years. Unexpectedly, the cancer returned more aggressively, and after a short period, she passed away. It was a devastating time for our family, especially as we had also lost our grandmother the year before and another aunt previously. With Auntie Gwen, I had the opportunity to speak with her a few days before her passing. I encouraged her to consider chemotherapy one more time. She said, "My niece, my faith has not given up, but my body cannot go through it again." I pleaded with her to reconsider, and she agreed to do the additional tests...

March 29 Between a Rock and God’s Grace

Image
Focus: Trusting God to meet your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Bible Passages: “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalm 50:15 Marjorie McDonald Ebenezer SDA Church CIC. The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”  Nahum 1:7 “But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.”  Psalm 59:16 Words of Wisdom: Have you ever felt like life’s circumstances forced you between a rock and a hard place? In 2019, I landed my dream job—a role I had long desired because it aligned perfectly with my passion for making a difference in the education system. This was my self-actualization moment, and I was ecstatic. However, being a single parent presented a significant challenge. I lived far from  family support, worked in a different parish, and juggled the logi...

March 28 El Roi: The God Who Sees Me

Image
Theme: Finding Comfort in God's Omnipresence and Care in Every Situation Sharon Campbell-Danvers North Side SDA Church "And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?" – Genesis 16:13 (KJV) Can you see me? Can you see what I am going through? Can you see my pain? The title El Roi is translated to mean "The God who sees me." The original Hebrew meaning conveys the idea of a shepherd who watches, looks after, and cares for his flock. It is a powerful reminder that even when we feel invisible or forgotten, God sees us. He is always watching over us, understanding our struggles, and walking with us through every season of our lives. During my childhood, my mother took us to live with our father in Hazard, St. Mary. As the name suggests, life was filled with hardship and pain. My brother and I faced abuse and rejection, and from the very first day, we knew we were u...

March 27, 2025 “God in the Everyday Grind"

Image
Theme:  Finding Him in the mundane tasks of work, family, and life.   Scripture: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” —   1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)  Tamelia Barrieffe, East End SDA Church  Where is God in Your Daily Routine? Life often feels like a cycle of repetitive, mundane tasks—work, family, responsibilities, errands. It’s easy to feel disconnected from God, as if we need a special moment or a break from our routine to experience His presence. But what if God is already in the ordinary moments? What if, instead of waiting for a perfect time, we created an environment where spending time with Him became a natural part of our day? Think about your typical day: ●         You want to spend more time with God but you still leave work late and rush through the evening. ●         You want to eat healthier to honor your body but your hom...

March 26 Broken But Beautiful

Image
Theme: Embracing Your Imperfections and Allowing God to Heal and Use Them    Arlene Johnson McLeod Kings SDA Church In a world that constantly tells us to be perfect, it can be easy to feel like we fall short. We may focus on our flaws—whether it’s our physical appearance, our past mistakes, or our perceived inadequacies—and feel overwhelmed. However, God’s Word reminds us that perfection isn’t required for His love and plan for our lives. In fact, He specializes in using brokenness for His glory. The Apostle Paul shares his own journey of embracing imperfection in 2 Corinthians 12:9, where he writes, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” God doesn’t need us to be flawless; He desires our hearts to be open, allowing Him to heal, transform, and ultimately use us for His glory. In our imperfections, ...

March 25 Permission to Pause

Image
Theme:  Embracing Rest Without Guilt Sharon Campbell- Danvers Shepherdess CIC Kings SDA Church "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." – Matthew 11:28 (KJV) When was the last time you truly rested? Not just a quick nap or a short break, but a real, intentional pause—one where your mind, body, and soul were at ease? Life moves at such a relentless pace. If we are not careful, we get caught up in the whirlwind of responsibilities, multitasking, and endless demands. Everyone seems to need something from us, and everything appears urgent. But when is your urgent care moment? Not the kind that takes you to the hospital, but the kind that ensures you do not end up there in the first place. As women, we often carry the weight of the home, family, work, friendships, and countless other responsibilities. We convince ourselves that we are irreplaceable, that everything will fall apart if we step away. But the truth is, if we were to fall ill—...

March 24 Keep Your Eyes on The Prize

Image
Theme:  Living for eternity in a distracted world. Dr. Terry-Ann Robinson Kings SDA Church PHILIPPIANS 3:13-14 NKJV Brethren, I do not count myself to have [a]apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,   I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. On your mark, get set, go! They took off in a flash towards the finish line. The winner of the race was clear to everyone until he took a right turn towards an attractive group of cones that were being set up for another race. The teacher frantically rushed over to him and ran with him to the finish line. But by the time he arrived, the other toddlers had crossed the line. I smiled and watched as all the parents laughed and cheered him on. In the race of life, many of us make the same mistake. We get distracted by the colorful things of this world. The ever-changing clips on our screens absorb our attent...

March 23 Stay Humble Hustler

Image
Theme:  Success Without Losing Sight of God Kerry Batchu-Hamilton Kings SDA Church Scripture: "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." — James 4:10 (NIV) Success is a blessing, but without humility, it can turn into pride. When we work hard and achieve our goals, it’s easy to think we did it all on our own. But true success comes from God’s favor and guidance. We must always remember to stay humble, even in our victories. As a child, my dreams were not always pleasant. They often felt too real, and fear gripped me in my sleep. I even prayed for God to take them away. But as I grew, I realized those dreams were reflections of my subconscious fears of the unknown, of failure, of not being enough. Yet, deep inside, I always wanted success. That desire made me work hard and put my whole heart into everything I did, believing that God was always by my side. When I left university, I told myself, “I need a job immediately, and I won’t sit and wait for a dream...

March 22- Jehovah Jirah: God will Provide

Image
Theme:  When we give we share God's love. Ethlyn Reeves Bodden Bethel  Scripture: Acts 20:35 "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive." On December 23, 2024, in Honduras, my husband and I decided to share our blessings with those in need, inspired by what God had provided us throughout the year. We planned and gathered many sacks and boxes of food to distribute to at least one hundred families. Additionally, we collected clothes and toys from various friends to give to needy families. The day came when my sons and I traveled to a village by the name of Bonito López outside the city to share bags of food. As we handed them out, people were overwhelmed with gratitude and asked who had sent them the groceries. One encounter in particular left a profound impact on my heart. A little girl, about five years old, was found alone. She ha...

March 21 Praise Him Anyway!

Image
THEME: Worshiping God in the midst of storms Camille McKogg  Shepherdess CIC Creek SDA church   Growing up on an island in the Caribbean would be a dream come true for many people worldwide. The food, the culture, the warm hospitality, breathtaking white sandy beaches. Sun-drenched days and the hurricane season, wait, WHAT?! Hurricane in all that beauty.  But isn’t that life? Life, in all its beauty, has its seasons of disturbances that gets us off balance, but knowing that there is a God who loves us in and out of stormy seasons gives us the reassurance of brighter days if we only trust and have faith.  I remember as a little girl in 1980, August 6, to be exact, the announcement that a category 4 storm, Allen, was coming, changed the atmosphere in the north coast of Jamaica. The sea was as calm as a mirror, and the air was still. Hundreds of butterflies everywhere. Radios were tuned in t...

March 20 Protect Your Peace

Image
Theme:  Guarding your heart in a noisy world. Corry Chambers Women's Ministries Director, Shepherdess, CIC Scripture: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) In today’s world, distractions and chaos seem to be everywhere. From social media notifications to the expectations of others. Our hearts are constantly bombarded with noises. Let us keep it real!  Have you ever been in church and find that your thoughts keep trending on external matters unrelated to spiritual things? I have been praying earnestly for God to give me the ability to focus on the things that are important so my connection with him can be heightened. The world we live in is very fast paced and my brain is always trying to keep up with everything that is happening around me. I am often bombarded by my daily tasks, and this has robbed me of quality time with spiritual activities. Additionally, some of us struggle with the weight of comparison, anxie...

March 19 "The Struggle Is Real"

Image
Leisa Walker Kings SDA Church Theme: Trusting God during financial, career, or family challenges.  Scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” —  Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV), “Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you. 1Peter 5:7. Life has a way of testing our faith, especially when we face financial struggles, career setbacks, or family hardships. It’s easy to feel like you are drowning. In these moments, doubt creeps in, and we wonder if God sees us, hears our prayers, or even cares about our pain. The weight of uncertainty can be overwhelming, making it tempting to take matters into our own hands instead of waiting on Him. Fear whispers that you’re alone, and that things won’t get better, and that God is distant. The truth is, God is near and deeply cares for you. God doesn’t ask us to trust him blindly. In psalms 34: 8 (NIV), he invites us to ...
