Theme: Relying on God's Power in Tough Times

God has promised that He will not give us more than we can bear. His Word assures us that if we call upon Him, He will answer and be our refuge. However, during struggles, we often feel overwhelmed and despondent. Even Jesus, as He approached the climax of His earthly journey, faced a moment of great despair in Gethsemane and cried out,

"My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46, KJV).

How many times have you felt as though God has left you stranded? There are moments when He seems silent—when you have prayed, fasted, and sought Him earnestly, yet it feels as if nothing is changing.

I have had many such experiences during my Christian journey. But one lesson I have learned is that my 70% can become 100% in God's hands. In my weakness, when I give my all to Him, He takes my insufficiency, covers me with His grace, and makes me whole. The Apostle Paul reminds us:

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: my strength is perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me" (2 Corinthians 12:9, KJV).

Finding Strength in Weakness

There was a time when I received a troubling medical report. Instantly, I felt weak and anxious. My mind raced with thoughts about my children—who would care for them if I were gone? I even considered the details of my will and funeral arrangements. Fear gripped me, and for a moment, I felt powerless.

Have you ever felt this way? When fear tries to take hold of you?

But in that moment, I pulled myself together and resolved to trust in God's sovereignty. I remembered the words of Job: "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord" (Job 1:21, KJV).

I placed my life in God's hands, knowing He is in control. Whatever the outcome, I found strength in my weakness. My strength came from God, and through Him, I was able to rise again. Praise God! Thank You, Jesus!

Let us not be anxious about what tomorrow holds, for the Lord has already made provision for us. He has declared: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10, KJV).

In tough times, God is tougher.

In difficult times, God is your defender.

In the heat of battle, God is your helper.

In trials, He is your truth.

God will never leave us or forsake us as long as we abide in Him.

Prayer

Dear God, there are times when I feel weak and defeated. Help me to cling to Your promises, to trust in Your power, and to rest in Your strength. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that Your grace is sufficient for me. Strengthen me, O Lord, and help me to walk boldly in faith, knowing that You are always with me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
