March 8 Love Like It's Hard
Theme: Showing Christ’s love in tough relationships.
Jolene Whyte Kings SDA Church |
Loving like Christ calls us to love isn’t always easy. It’s the kind of love that asks us to go beyond our feelings, beyond our comfort zones, and to keep loving even when it seems hard or unfair. This is the love that truly reflects Christ’s heart—a love that is patient, kind, forgiving, and never gives up.
I’ve walked through a season of love that felt impossible.
There was a time when I gave everything to someone I loved deeply. I
sacrificed, forgave, and stayed, even when it hurt. But there came a moment
when I had to make a difficult decision—one that broke my heart but was
necessary for my own healing and peace. I had loved, I had forgiven, but I
couldn’t keep going in the same place. It was a painful journey, but through it
all, God never left me. His love held me even when I felt broken.
Christ’s love for us is unconditional—it doesn’t change when
things get hard. He loves us not because we are perfect, but because He is
perfect in His love. And as women of faith, we are called to reflect that same
love in our relationships, even in tough times. It’s easy to love when
everything is going well, but it’s in the hard times that our love truly
reflects Christ’s heart.
Loving like it’s hard means we forgive even when the hurt
feels too deep. It means we show grace when we’re tempted to hold on to anger.
It means we let go of what we can’t control and trust God to heal and restore
us. It means knowing when to stay and when to step away—because sometimes,
loving like Christ means setting healthy boundaries that honour both ourselves and
others.
If you’re in a season where love feels hard, I want to
encourage you to hold on to God’s truth: He is with you in every moment. His
love is your strength. When we love like Christ, we open ourselves up to His
peace, healing, and guidance.
Let’s pray:
Lord, thank You for Your constant love. Help us to reflect Your love,
especially in the toughest times. Give us the strength to love with patience,
the wisdom to forgive, and the courage to let go of what isn’t healthy. We
trust you to lead us through every challenge, knowing that Your love will carry
us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Amen

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Jolen. Loving is indeed hard and calls for us to connect to Jesus to do what doesn't make sense humanly because it is divine. All the best in love, Linda WP
