Scripture: “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14 (NIV)
The story of Esther is a powerful reminder that God places us in specific positions for a purpose. Esther, a Jewish orphan who became queen of Persia, found herself facing an inconceivable challenge where the survival of her people depended on her willingness to step forward and that meant risking her own life.
Mordecai’s words in Esther 4:14 challenge us to consider that our circumstances did not come about by accident. Esther didn’t set out to get on the throne, yet God positioned her there for a divine purpose. Like Esther, we may not always understand why we are where we are, but we can trust that God is working through us once we surrender ourselves to Him.
You may be in a situation where you feel uncertain or unqualified. Perhaps God is calling you to speak up, to lead, or to take a step of faith that feels overwhelming. But just as God equipped Esther, He will equip you. Your influence, skills, and experiences, no matter how ordinary they may seem, are part of His plan.
What should we do place ourselves in this position?
1. Recognize Your Position – Where has God placed you right now? What opportunities has He given you to make a difference?
2. Trust in His Timing – Even when the path is unclear, God’s timing is perfect. Seek His wisdom in prayer.
3. Step Forward in Faith – Like Esther, courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear, but the decision to trust God more than your fears.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for placing me where I am for a
reason. Help me to trust in Your plan and have the courage to step into the
purpose You have for me. Give me wisdom, strength, and boldness to act when You
call. Use me for Your glory, for such a time as this. Amen.
Amen. Thank you for this devotional Lady Harry.
