July 14: Alarm Clock of Destiny

Theme: It’s Time to Step into Your Calling

Scripture: Romans 13:11 (NKJV)

“And do this, knowing the time, that know it is high time to awake out of our sleep; for now, our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.”

There’s a reason your alarm clock feels harsh- it cuts through comfort. And that’s precisely what Paul is doing.

Romans 13:11 is like a spiritual alarm going off, not to annoy us but to wake us up. Time is short, and there’s no room for delay. He’s speaking to believers —people like you and me, who know God yet may still be spiritually asleep when it comes to our calling.

This isn’t a call to “get ready.” It’s a call to wake up.

I remember times I was asked to do something in church, whether to speak, lead, or share- and I felt shut down by my shyness. I felt like I wasn’t ready. Fear came over me. It reminds me of Jeremiah’s response when God called him:

 Jeremiah 1:6-7 (NKJV)

Then said I:

“Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak for I am a youth.”  7 But the Lord said to me: “Do not say 'I am a youth,' for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.

God didn’t entertain Jeremiah's excuses, and He didn’t entertain mine. He said, “Do not say that. There was a time when I made excuses due to doubt and fear. But just like God touched Jeremiah's mouth. I allowed Him to touch mine. And in doing so, I realized something powerful:

 People of God!

Stop disqualifying yourself from what God has already qualified you for.

God knew you, He knew your age, your history, your flaws, and He still called you; He still called us.  You think you need to be polished, but God needs you to be present.

He already placed something inside us: a gift, a burden, a calling. But if we keep sleeping on it, it’s like sleeping during a house fire. The danger is real, even if we're unaware.

·       Souls are at stake.

·       Influence is a waste.

·       Time is slipping.

What would happen if we treated today like the day our destiny begins?

What if we stopped hitting “snooze” on the voice of God?

God is not asking us to do everything, just the next thing.

·       So, Rise.

·       Get Up.

·       Say Yes.

It's not just time to wake; it's time to walk out what He already put in you.

 Prayer

Most righteous and eternal father, God of heaven and earth, God of the universe, God of all gods. I come before You at this time, asking You, Lord, to shake me out of comfort and fear. Please help me recognize the urgency of your call. I don’t want to waste what you've given me. Lord, help me step into it today with faith, courage, and obedience.

 In Jesus’ name, Amen.
