August 15: Delighting in God’s Desire
Theme: Delighting in His Will

Psalm 37:4 – “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” (NKJV)
Real Talk for Today:
Let’s be honest—life today is full of things fighting for your attention:
TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram
Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox, FIFA
None of those are wrong by themselves. But here’s the question:
Are you spending more time scrolling and gaming than seeking God’s heart?
Psalm 37:4 says we should delight ourselves in the Lord—that means to enjoy spending time with Him, just like we enjoy our favorite app or game. When we make Him our #1 joy, our hearts change. We start wanting what He wants for us—good things, lasting joy, real purpose.
The Exchange:
When you make time for God:
- Instead of just chasing followers, you’ll start following Him.
- Instead of craving “likes,” you’ll feel loved by the One who made you.
- Instead of spending hours gaming to escape, you’ll discover a God who walks with you in real life.
And guess what? God promises to give you the desires of your heart—but only when your heart is in the right place.
Application Challenge:
- Swap 10 minutes of screen time for quiet time.
Before you check your notifications, talk to God. Read a Psalm or write a quick prayer. - Make your feed faith-friendly.
Follow at least one Christian page that inspires you to grow in your faith. Let Jesus show up in your scroll. - Play with purpose.
While gaming, practice kindness, self-control, and honesty. Be a light—even in a virtual world.
Prayer:
Dear God, I admit that sometimes I spend more time on screens than with You. Please help me delight in You more than anything else. Teach me to want what You want, and show me how to live for You—even online. Amen.
Final Word:
What you delight in shapes your life.
Delight in God, and He’ll give you the kind of life that’s more fulfilling than any game, trend, or post.
Amen
