August 18: Though None Go With Me

 Though None Go With Me

There are moments in life when change comes. These moments can be both exciting and unsettling as they push us into unfamiliar territory. We often stand at the beginning of a new journey or at the edge of a crossroad wondering what the future holds. Our human desire is to see the entire path laid out before us, to feel secure by knowing the outcome in advance. Yet God does not always work that way. He calls us to step out in faith with trust that He is already in tomorrow.

The movie Though None Go With Me beautifully reminds us of this truth. The main character endures hardships, losses, and seasons of loneliness, yet she remains steadfast in her faith. Her life illustrates the very heart of discipleship. The road of faith is not always lined with companions or comfort. Sometimes it feels as though no one else is walking in the same direction. Yet the presence of Jesus makes all the difference.

When others seem absent, He is still there. Scripture assures us, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6). When uncertainty weighs heavily, He whispers peace, for “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6). When you feel weary, His strength becomes your strength, reminding us that “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

For all who stand at a crossroad or who are facing significant change, remember that there is no turning back. The path forward may feel unfamiliar, but it is not unsafe, because the Lord walks with you. He promises never to leave you or forsake you. Trusting the process is not about trusting circumstances but about trusting the God who is in control of all things. You may not know what tomorrow brings, but you can rest in knowing Who holds tomorrow in His hands.

So keep moving forward with courage. Though none may go with you, you are never truly alone. The Lord who called you is faithful and He will walk with you every step of the way.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for walking with me even when the path feels uncertain and lonely. Give me the courage to take the next step in faith, trusting not in my own understanding but in Your unfailing presence. Remind me that I am never alone because You are always with me. Strengthen my heart to press on with hope and confidence in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
