Men on Their Knees: The Power When Me

Sharon Campbell-Danvers

n Pray

1 Timothy 2:1–2 (KJV): I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

There is undeniable power when men pray.

One of the many things I deeply admire about my husband is his dedication and commitment to a life of prayer. Prayer is the fuel that keeps him spiritually grounded. It is the engine that drives his faith and sustains our family. It forms the very core of his walk with God, shaping the way he leads, loves, and serves.

Whenever our family, church, or community faces challenges, I know I can rely on his fervent intercession for God to move mightily in those situations. He stands as a watchman, discerning and praying over matters that concern not only our home but also the wider body of Christ.

Within our own family circle, he is truly the prayer warrior of the house. His daily routine includes intentional times set apart to intercede for his wife, his children, his church family, and even those who may not know the Lord. Through his faithfulness in prayer, we have witnessed countless blessings. We have seen God’s provision, peace, healing, and spiritual growth. His congregation too has been strengthened by his unwavering example of humility and perseverance before God’s throne.

When men pray, we recognise it and we appreciate it. There is something powerful, steady, and reassuring about the sound of a man calling on the name of Jesus. It places a spiritual covering over the home and brings divine order into the church.

When our children were young, they would often wait eagerly after morning worship, ready to climb onto their father’s back, laughing and calling him their donkey. Those moments were both tender and meaningful. Our children learned early to associate prayer with joy, safety, and love. They understood that before the play came the prayer, and that rhythm set the tone for our home.

In the same way, when men rise to pray for the nation and the community, we wait expectantly. We sense that heaven is about to move. Jesus listens when His sons and servants lift their voices in faith.

Today, we celebrate and encourage men who kneel before God. Their prayers uphold families, strengthen churches, and shape nations. May every man find strength and purpose on his knees, and may we as a community support and uplift them, for when men pray, heaven responds.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the men who humble themselves before You in prayer. Strengthen their hearts, guide their words, and deepen their faith. May their prayers bring peace to families, unity to the church, and healing to our nation. Teach us all to seek You earnestly and to trust in Your power to move on our behalf. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
