January 27: Surrendered Hands, Available Heart
Surrendered Hands, Available Heart
Key Text: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” — Isaiah 6:8

There comes a moment in every believer’s life when God’s call is less about ability and more about availability. Isaiah’s response did not begin with confidence or qualifications—it began with surrender. Standing in God’s presence, he simply offered himself. That willingness opened the door for God to work powerfully through his life.
I once spoke with someone who felt God nudging them to encourage a coworker they barely knew. They hesitated—worried it would feel awkward or unnecessary—but finally obeyed. That short conversation turned out to be exactly what the coworker needed during a difficult season. It wasn’t planned or polished, just obedience. That’s how God often works: through small, surrendered “yes” moments that have lasting impact.
Surrendered hands mean releasing control—our fears, comfort zones, and plans. An available heart means staying open when God whispers, rather than waiting for perfect conditions. God doesn’t require us to have it all figured out; He asks us to trust Him enough to step forward. When we do, He meets us with strength, clarity, and grace.
Reflection 1: is one area of your life where God may be inviting you to say “yes” instead of waiting until you feel fully ready?
Prayer:
Lord, I place my hands and my heart in Your care today. Teach me to let go of control and fear, and help me respond when You call. Give me the courage to say, “Here am I,” even when I don’t know the outcome. Use my life in ways that bring You glory and bless others.
Amen.
Lord please help me to avail myself to you.
