From Doubter to Believer
As we step into 2026, we do so carrying both hope and honesty. A new year does not silence every question, erase every fear, or remove every moment of doubt. There will be early mornings when our thoughts race, when the past resurfaces, and when the enemy whispers lies about who we are and whether we truly belong to God. Yet 2026 also brings a powerful invitation: to move from doubt to belief.
That evil one—he is constantly providing unsolicited advice and causing me to doubt.
Sabbath morning, as soon as I awoke, I heard…
Who can be saved?
And instantly, I was wide awake.
I pondered, Am I saved? I reflected back on my past. Did I confess everything? Am I going to die eternally?
My thoughts were wired and many.
It was around 5:00 a.m., and needless to say, I could not reclaim my sleep. I struggled for the remainder of the morning.
Brethren, the devil says that I don’t deserve to be a part of God’s kingdom.
He says I can’t be saved and that I am wretched, poor, naked, and blind—and will forever stay that way.
But here is the true version from Revelation. Jesus says:
Revelation 3:17
“You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’
But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.”
Revelation 3:18
“I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich;
and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness;
and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.”
I can hear Jesus saying, “Thomas, you still deserve My love.”
John 20:27–28
Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus is saying to all the doubting Thomases:
You deserve for Me to die for you.
You deserve to heal.
You deserve to inherit My Kingdom.
You deserve My love.
You deserve My robe of righteousness.
You deserve My life.
Look at this beautiful picture:
He received death, so we can have life.
He received our sins, so we can have freedom.
He stepped down, so we can be elevated.
When you encounter Jesus, like Thomas, turn away from doubt and uncertainty.
Believe and fully claim God’s promises.
Romans 10:13
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Prayer
Thank You, Jesus, for Your Holy Spirit and Your promises of eternal life.
May we put away doubt and replace it with belief.
Thank You that we can claim Your truths found in Your Word.
Thank You that You are my LORD and my God.
Amen.
