February 13: Someday
Someday

Supporting Scripture: John 14:1–3 (KJV)
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
For over twenty years, we have had the privilege of serving in pastoral ministry. It has been a beautiful journey filled with sacrifice, patience, and joy. God entrusted us with the sacred responsibility of touching lives we may never have reached as ordinary members. I have come to understand that my role as a shepherdess is not simply connected to my husband’s calling, but to God’s personal call upon my own heart. He placed within me a burden for souls long before I understood its full meaning.
Now, as Kevin and I walk together in ministry, our service is united in one purpose, to honor God and to do His will.
Today marked our final Sabbath at North Side Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Cayman Islands. Holding back tears was not easy. We have grown to love God’s people deeply, and in many ways, they have become our family. This departure feels different from other transitions, because love has been planted here.
When seasons end, we often think about where we are going next. But today, my thoughts turned toward a greater question: Someday, when we leave this earth, where will we be going?
Someday, I want to go where Jesus is.
Someday, I want to rest in the home He has prepared.
Someday, I want to meet again with those I have loved and served.
There is beauty in service, but striving should never cost us our focus on eternity. Ministry is not only about what we do here—it is about preparing hearts for where we are going.
When Jesus prepared to leave His disciples, He spoke words of comfort: “Let not your heart be troubled.” His promise was not about a building or a location alone, it was about relationship. “That where I am, there ye may be also.”
As we leave this church family, we hold tightly to God’s promises. We may part ways on earth, but heaven remains our true home. And by God’s grace, someday we will meet again, not in farewell, but in forever.
Somebody, let us meet in heaven.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the privilege of serving Your people. As seasons change, keep our hearts fixed on the eternal home You have prepared for us. Help us to serve faithfully, love deeply, and walk faithfully until the day we meet again in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
