February14: Love Written in Dough

Love Written in Dough

Key Text: “Let all that you do be done with love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14 (NKJV)

February 14 is celebrated as Valentine’s Day—a day when the world expresses love through gifts and grand gestures. Many gifts are purchased because it is expected, not necessarily because it is heartfelt.

But love is not measured by price tags.
It is measured by intention.

Testimony

Whenever my husband leaves home, I usually think about how to welcome him back in a unique way. While he was away in December 2025, I decided to prepare him a meal for his return. I also decided to cook dumplings for the children in the same pot.

My husband had decided to give dumplings a break, but a grand idea came to me- to use the dough to write “I Love You.” I took great care in forming those designs. I wanted them big, to reflect the depth of that love.

While eating, he was telling my brother that he doesn’t really eat dumplings, but as long as his wife prepares it with love, he has to partake.

I watched his face as he delved not just into the food…
but into the love that was demonstrated.

Love is not always spoken.
Sometimes love is:

  • Prepared

  • Shaped

  • Served

  • And sacrificed

I did not just cook a meal, I crafted a message. I took something ordinary and turned it into a language of affection. Even though dumplings were no longer his preference, love changed the taste of the moment.

That is exactly how God loves us.

There are seasons when what He serves is not what we asked for.
Yet because it is seasoned with His love, it still nourishes us.

My husband didn’t just eat dumplings that day.
He ate devotion.
He ate intention.
He ate commitment.
He ate love made visible.

Key Takeaway

Love is most powerful when it is demonstrated, not declared.
What hands shape in love, hearts will always receive.

Prayer

Lord, teach me to love with intention. Let every act, every word, every sacrifice be seasoned with genuine love. Help me to reflect Your love in the smallest details of daily life. May my home always be a place where love is not only spoken, but seen and felt. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing Declaration

I will serve with love.
I will speak with love.
I will give with love.
And even what seems ordinary
will become extraordinary
because love is the ingredient.
