January 5: Love Without Limits

Love Without Limits

Scripture: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”

Living here in the beautiful Cayman Islands, we are surrounded by the vast blue seas. Even if everyone were to enter the ocean at the same time, there would still be more than enough water left. If we were to scoop some out or take a drink, the ocean would not run dry.

This is a powerful reminder of God’s love. No matter how many times we have failed Him, His love remains abundant and available. God’s love is never exhausted, never diminished, and never withheld.

As children of God, we are called to extend that same love to others even when they have failed us. Loving others is not always easy, but it is evidence that we truly know God.

Recently, I visited Jamaica and noticed something beautiful at my aunt’s home. After the destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa, her pumpkin vine began to grow. Before long, it spread widely across the yard, producing over a dozen pumpkins. Despite the storm, life and abundance followed.

This is the kind of love Christ desires us to have, just like that pumpkin vine. It should spread freely, reaching everyone around us. Not only did the vine grow, but the pumpkins it produced were shared among family and tasted amazing. In the same way, when we extend love to others, it produces good fruit of blessing, unity, and joy.

Let us choose to extend God’s love to those around us. Let us love without limits, like the endless ocean and the ever-growing pumpkin vine.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your endless and unfailing love. Help us to receive Your love fully and to extend it freely to others, even when it is difficult. Teach us to love without limits, just as You love us. May our lives bear good fruit that brings glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
