March 10: Stay Planted

Reflection

You are like a tree planted by streams of water. This is not just a picture, it is a promise. Even when life feels uncertain, even when your efforts seem unnoticed, your roots are being nourished. Streams flow quietly and constantly, unseen beneath the surface, just as God works in ways you cannot always see.

Sometimes, you may feel stuck. You give your best in prayer, in work, in relationships, and it seems as though nothing moves forward and it’s only getting worse. The tree helps to teach you an important truth: what happens underground is just as important as what grows ahead of you. While you wait, God is strengthening your roots, building endurance, patience, and faith. This is preparation for the fruit that will come in the right season.

The tree does not rush its growth, and neither should you. Fruit appears in its time. You cannot force it, and you cannot miss it if you stay planted. Every storm you face, every moment of doubt, every season of silence is shaping you. Your faith is being anchored. Your resilience is being deepened. Your connection to God is protected.

Even when winds blow hard and rains fall heavily, you will not wither if your roots remain in God. You may bend, but you will not break. Whatever you do prospers, not because of your strength, but because you are drawing from the Source of life Himself.

Apply this:
Today, choose to stay planted. When life feels slow, when progress is invisible, when storms threaten to shake you, trust the streams that flow beneath you. Let God’s presence sustain you. Remain faithful in prayer, in effort, and in love. Your roots are growing, and your fruit will come in the right season.

    1. Thanks for this food for thought. Even in our dry season, leaves wither, but staying planted, new leaves appear, renewal comes.
