March 16: Stay the Course
by Stacy-Ann Dawkins
Scripture
Focus: Galatians 6:9
"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up."
There
are seasons in life when the journey feels long and the effort feels heavy. You
may be doing your best - serving faithfully, helping others, working
diligently, praying earnestly - and yet the results seem slow or unseen. In
those moments, discouragement can whisper, “Maybe it’s not worth it. Maybe I
should stop.”
But
God’s Word speaks a powerful reminder into those moments: Do not grow weary.
Do not give up. Stay the course.
The
encouragement in Galatians 6:9 is both a command and a promise. God calls us to
remain faithful in doing good, even when the path is difficult. And attached to
that call is a beautiful assurance: a harvest is coming in God’s appointed
time.
The
seed that is planted today does not produce fruit overnight. It must grow
beneath the surface before it becomes visible. In the same way, God is often
working in ways we cannot yet see - shaping hearts, opening doors, and
preparing blessings that will reveal themselves in time.
Your
faithfulness today is not wasted. Every act of kindness, every prayer, every
moment of obedience matters in the kingdom of God.
Noah’s Steadfast Faith
The
life of Noah beautifully reflects the message of perseverance.
God
asked Noah to do something extraordinary: build a massive ark because a great
flood was coming upon the earth. This task required years of dedication,
effort, and unwavering trust in God’s word. Imagine the persistence it took for
Noah to continue day after day, long before there was any sign of rain.
People
around him may have doubted, questioned, or even mocked him. Yet Noah remained
faithful to God’s instruction. He continued the work even when it seemed
difficult and when the outcome was not yet visible.
And
at the appointed time, God’s promise came to pass. The rain fell, the ark was
ready, and Noah and his family were preserved.
Noah’s
life reminds us that faithfulness over time leads to the fulfillment of God’s
purposes. What matters most is not how quickly we see results, but how
faithfully we continue to walk with God.
Perhaps
you are in a season where perseverance is required. Maybe you are praying for
something that has not yet happened, working toward a goal that feels distant,
or faithfully serving without recognition.
Take
heart today.
God
sees your effort.
God knows your heart.
God remembers your faithfulness.
What
feels like slow progress may actually be God preparing a harvest beyond what
you can imagine.
So
keep praying.
Keep believing.
Keep doing good.
And
above all, stay the course.
Prayer
Heavenly
Father,
Thank You for reminding us through Your Word that our faithfulness is never in
vain. When we grow tired and discouraged, renew our strength and lift our
hearts. Help us to keep doing good, even when the journey feels long and the
results seem distant. Teach us to trust Your timing and to believe that You are
working in ways we cannot yet see. Give us perseverance to stay the course and
faith to hold on to Your promises. May our lives reflect steadfast trust in
You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
