March 6: Becoming Fruitful

Dr. Terry-Ann Robinson

Key Text:
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5 (NKJV)
We all desire success—whether in our careers, our families, or our personal goals. Fulfillment often seems just out of reach as we chase after earthly achievements. Yet, Jesus teaches us that true fruitfulness comes not from striving on our own, but from abiding in Him and allowing Him to abide in us.
When we remain connected to Jesus, like branches to a vine, His life and power flow through us. Our achievements and productivity become evidence of His presence at work. Those around us may marvel at what we accomplish, but the secret is not our own strength—it’s Christ within us. Apart from Him, our efforts bear little lasting fruit. With Him, our work gains purpose, quality, and impact.
Let us seek success by not just working hard but by drawing closer to Jesus. As we abide in Him each day—through prayer, scripture, and obedience—He fills us with what we need to be truly fruitful in every area of life. He gives us wisdom far beyond our years, and He gives us insight to make decisions that honor Him and bless others.
Reflection Questions:
  • In what areas have you been striving on your own instead of abiding in Christ?
  • How can you deepen your daily connection with Jesus so that your life becomes more fruitful?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the true vine. Help me to stay connected to You, relying on Your strength and not my own. May my life bear much fruit for Your glory. Amen.
