April 12: The Lord Fights for You
The Lord Fights for You
Key Text: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
In the midst of it all, God is present, fighting for them, covering them, shielding them, and preserving their lives. There are dangers that could have destroyed them, situations that could have broken them, and traps that were set along their path, yet God intervened. He fought battles they were never even aware of.
At times, it is easy to believe that survival came through personal strength, wisdom, or effort. It may seem as though they figured things out on their own, handled the pressure, and endured by themselves. Yet the truth remains that it was always God. It has always been God.
No one is meant to walk through life alone. God’s people have an Advocate, One who goes before them, stands on their behalf, and represents them in places they cannot enter. He is present in every room, every conversation, and every decision. Even when they are unaware, He is working, moving, and fighting for them.
Scripture reminds us that Michael the Archangel and the heavenly hosts are engaged in battle on behalf of God’s people. This assures believers that they are not unprotected as they journey through life. They are covered, defended, and surrounded.
Therefore, they do not have to live as defeated people. They are children of the Mighty Warrior.
When they look back over their lives and reflect on how God has fought for them, kept them, delivered them, and made a way, the only fitting response is gratitude. Even when it appears they are standing alone, they are never alone. They have Jesus. They are children of the King. And anyone who comes against them must recognize that they are not standing by themselves, for the mighty host of God surrounds His people.
They shall not be defeated.
They are children of a Warrior.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for fighting for Your children even when they cannot see it. Thank You for covering them, protecting them, and standing on their behalf. Help them to trust You more and to remember that they are never alone.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
