April 22: Injection Fear

 Injection Fear

Key Scripture: Isaiah 53:5- “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

How many people struggle with injections or blood tests? For some, it is never simple. Veins are hard to find, and what should be quick often turns into multiple attempts. There is always that quiet tension, the bracing for pain, the anticipation of another needle.

On this particular morning, it took four needles.

Sitting there, wincing yet trying to remain still, the moment shifted from discomfort to reflection. Watching the blood slowly fill the small container brought a deeper awareness. It became impossible not to think about Jesus and the blood He shed.

His suffering was not clinical or controlled.

He was not pierced with sterile needles.
He was pierced with rough nails.

The purpose was not to draw blood.
The purpose was to take His life.

He was not meant to recover.

And yet, knowing all of this, He endured it fully.

What felt like a few moments of discomfort through four needle sticks cannot compare to the cross. He bore pain, shame, and suffering so that through His blood, humanity could receive life. What is brief discomfort for us cost Him complete surrender.

Scripture reminds us in Book of Hebrews 9:22 that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. It cost Him everything so that forgiveness could be freely given.

In Epistle to the Ephesians 1:7, we are reminded that redemption comes through His blood, bringing forgiveness of sins.

And in Book of Revelation 7:14, we see that lives are cleansed and made new through the blood of the Lamb.

His blood still speaks. It speaks grace. It speaks mercy. It speaks redemption.

There is still power in His blood today. It is not limited by time, circumstance, or human weakness. Each day, there is access to that same sacrifice, that same covering, that same cleansing.

There is still a fountain.

A fountain that never runs dry.
A fountain where hearts are cleansed.
A fountain where burdens are lifted.
A fountain where lives are restored.

Because of His blood, there is life.
Because of His blood, there is forgiveness.
Because of His blood, there is salvation.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious blood of Jesus. Thank You for the sacrifice that made a way for life, forgiveness, and restoration. Help us never to take lightly what it cost to redeem us. Remind us daily of the power and cleansing found in His blood. Teach us to trust fully in what You have already done.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
