April 29: Why Not Now?
Why Not Now?
Key Text:
"Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near." Isaiah 55:6
During worship, a question was asked that caused deep reflection: If you knew Jesus was coming right now, what three things would you change?
Many shared heartfelt answers, asking forgiveness, repenting, praying more, reconciling with others, telling family members to surrender their lives to God, and making things right while there is still time.
Then came the deeper question: What is hindering us from doing these things now?
That question reaches the heart. We know life is uncertain. We are losing loved ones around us, yet many still live as though there will always be another day, another chance, another tomorrow to get serious with God.
But tomorrow is not promised.
Sometimes, if we are honest, we know that if Jesus appeared this very moment, we might want to run and hide. We might ask for more time to fix what we delayed, to surrender what we held back, to become what we knew we should be.
So why not let this moment be the deciding moment?
Why not surrender now? Why not forgive now? Why not repent now? Why not pray now? Why not release what is keeping us bound and make heaven our true goal?
Many of us want a fresh start. The good news is that Jesus still offers one. No matter how far we have drifted, grace still calls us back.
I know there is still much I need to let go of. I am committed to reform and transformation. Lord Jesus, I truly want to start over with You.
If that is your desire too, then let us humble ourselves, seek His face, turn from what separates us, and commit fully to Him today.
Reflection Question:
If this were your moment to meet Jesus, what would you want to make right today?
Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I do not want to delay any longer. Search my heart, cleanse me, and help me surrender fully to You. Give me courage to let go of what hinders me and grace to begin again. Make heaven my home, and transform my life for Your glory. Amen.
