May 24: Safe in God’s Care
Key Text: Whoever dwells in
the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the
Almighty. Psalm 91:1
Imagine a tiny baby, sound asleep in the middle of a fierce
thunderstorm. The winds howl, rain pelts the windows, and thunder shakes the
house, but the child rests peacefully, undisturbed by the chaos outside. Why?
Because the baby trusts the arms its in. Wrapped safely in a parent’s embrace,
the child knows only comfort and security.
This is the kind of peace God offers us. Life can be
unpredictable and sometimes overwhelming. We may find ourselves in the midst of
emotional storms, facing uncertainty, fear, or loss. Yet, like the sleeping
baby, we are invited to rest in God’s loving arms. When we trust Him, His
presence surrounds us, shielding us from the turmoil and giving us a deep sense
of calm.
Psalm 91:1 reminds us that God’s shelter is always
available. When we dwell in His presence, we find rest, not because the world
around us is always calm, but because He is our refuge. No matter what storms
may come, we can be assured that God cares for us and keeps us safe.
Reflection:
- What storms are you facing right now?
- How can you practice trusting God more fully today?
- Take a moment to imagine yourself resting in God’s
care, just as a baby rests in loving arms.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my shelter and my peace. Help me to trust You, even
when life feels overwhelming. Remind me that I am always safe in Your care.
Amen.
