June 28 : He Will Keep You in Safety
He Will Keep You in Safety
Psalm 121:7–8 (KJV)
"The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
Sharon Campbell-Danvers
There have been many times when I have put something away so securely that I could not remember where I placed it. Hours have been spent searching through drawers, cupboards, bags, and shelves, retracing my steps over and over again. Sometimes, after exhausting every possibility, I simply stop and pray, "Lord, please touch my mind and help me remember where I put it."
More often than not, in the quietness of the night or during a moment of stillness, the Lord gently nudges my memory. A forgotten detail comes back, a particular movement resurfaces in my mind, and I am able to retrace my steps and find what was lost.
As I reflect on Psalm 121:7–8, I am reminded that if I cannot always trust myself to remember where I place my possessions, how much more do I need God to watch over my life. There are things we forget, details we overlook, and paths we cannot fully see. We may misplace keys, documents, opportunities, or even lose our sense of direction in difficult seasons. Yet God never loses sight of us.
No other person could fully carry the responsibility of preserving our lives because every human being is limited. People forget. People become distracted. People make mistakes. But God never forgets. He never loses track of where we are, what we need, or what concerns us. His watchful care is constant and complete.
The psalmist assures us that the Lord will preserve our going out and our coming in. He watches over every step, every journey, every decision, and every season of life. While we may struggle to remember where we placed an item yesterday, God holds every detail of our lives securely in His hands. Nothing is misplaced with Him. Nothing is overlooked. Nothing is beyond His loving care.
What a comfort it is to know that the One who keeps us is never forgetful, never weary, and never distracted. The God who helps us find what is lost is the same God who faithfully preserves our souls and guides us safely through life.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that when my memory fails and my understanding is limited, Your wisdom and care never fail. Thank You for watching over every detail of my life and for preserving my soul. Help me to trust Your faithful keeping, knowing that nothing concerning me is ever forgotten by You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
