June 30 – Faithful Is He That Promised
June 30 – Faithful Is He That Promised
Hebrews 10:23 (KJV)
"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)"
Sharon Campbell-Danvers
As I reflect on this verse, it takes on a deeper meaning for me. The foundation of our confidence is found in the simple but powerful truth: "for he is faithful that promised." God's faithfulness is unchanging. Human promises may be broken, forgotten, delayed, or abandoned, but God's promises are secured by His perfect character. He cannot lie, fail, or turn away from His word. What He has spoken, He will accomplish in His perfect timing and according to His perfect will.
One of the realities of life is seeing how quickly people can change. Memories fade, loyalties shift, and promises once spoken with sincerity can be forgotten. Sometimes power, position, influence, or success can alter a person's perspective to the point where they no longer remember those who stood beside them during difficult seasons. The very people who encouraged them, prayed for them, supported them, and helped them fight the good fight can become distant memories.
At times, self-praise and self-promotion can elevate pride and diminish gratitude. Achievements may be viewed as personal accomplishments rather than blessings received through God's grace and the support of others. It is a painful experience when someone forgets those who were present when it truly mattered.
Yet this is what makes God's faithfulness so extraordinary. Unlike human beings, God never forgets. He remembers every prayer, every sacrifice, every act of obedience, every tear shed in secret, and every kindness shown in His name. He does not become distracted by power, position, or prestige. He does not revise His commitments based on changing circumstances. His faithfulness remains constant because it is rooted in who He is.
When people fail us, we are reminded not to anchor our hope in human promises but in God's eternal Word. Human beings may forget, but God remembers. People may change, but God remains the same. Others may fail to honour their commitments, but God is always faithful to His.
Therefore, we can hold fast to our faith without wavering, knowing that our confidence rests not in the reliability of people but in the unwavering faithfulness of God. The One who promised is still faithful, and He will never forget His children.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that Your faithfulness never changes. When human promises fail and people forget, help me to keep my eyes fixed on You. Guard my heart from disappointment, bitterness, and pride, and teach me to trust completely in Your unfailing Word. Thank You for remembering every act of faithfulness and for always keeping Your promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thanks for the encouragement. Our God is indeed faithful so we can trust him wholeheartedly.
