June 7: God Will Supply What You Need
by: Tamelia Barriffe
Scripture: “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ
Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19 (ESV)
God’s provision goes far beyond food on the table, clothes on our backs, or money in our bank
accounts. When Paul wrote Philippians 4:19, he was reminding believers that God is aware of
every area of our lives. He knows our physical needs, emotional struggles, mental burdens,
relational challenges, and spiritual hunger.
Many times, we pray for material blessings while overlooking the spiritual gifts and abilities God
desires to place within us. God does not only supply what sustains us; He also supplies what
equips us for His purpose. He gives wisdom when we lack direction, peace when anxiety
overwhelms us, strength when we feel weak, and spiritual gifts that enable us to serve others
and glorify Him.
The Holy Spirit distributes gifts such as teaching, encouragement, leadership, discernment,
mercy, faith, and service. These gifts are not earned; they are given by God’s grace. As
believers, we should not only seek God’s hand for provision but also His heart for
empowerment.
Today, ask yourself: Am I only praying for what I want, or am I also praying for what God wants
to place inside me? God delights in supplying both natural and spiritual needs. He knows
exactly what you need to fulfill your calling.
When God supplies your spiritual gifts, He enables you to become a blessing to others. The gift
you need for your family, ministry, workplace, or community is available through Him. Trust that
His resources are unlimited and His timing is perfect.
Reflection
● What need am I currently trusting God to supply?
● Have I asked God to reveal and strengthen the spiritual gifts He has given me?
● How can I use God’s gifts to serve others this week?
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being a God who supplies all my needs according to Your riches in glory. Thank
You for caring about every part of my life—my physical needs, emotional well-being,
relationships, and spiritual growth.
Lord, today I ask not only for provision but also for spiritual empowerment. Reveal the gifts You
have placed within me and help me to use them for Your glory. Give me wisdom where I lack
understanding, faith where I struggle to trust, discernment where I need guidance, and courage
to walk in the purpose You have for me.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and equip me to serve others with love, humility, and excellence.
Help me to trust that You will provide everything I need to accomplish the work You have called
me to do.
I receive Your provision, Your peace, and Your gifts by faith. May my life be a testimony of Your
goodness and faithfulness.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
