March 18 "Be Brave Girl”

Image
Theme: Stepping out in faith to chase God’s plan” Sarah Bevans Sarah Bevans Shepherdess CIC George Town SDA Church Scripture: Micah 6:4-  “For I brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery; I sent Moses to lead you, also Aaron and Miriam.” We all have the potential to impact our communities and world in remarkable ways. Every girl posses a unique calling a purpose knitted in the fabric of her being. God often calls us to be brave and to exercise such bravery in the most unexpected way. Just like Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron, who played a vital role in the Exodus story. Her courage and obedience to God reminds us of our significance in the divine plan of God. Miriam is introduced to us in Exodus 2: 4-10 as a little girl that  demonstrated great courage and obedience when she saw her baby brother placed in a basket among the reeds of the Nile river, she did not estimate the dangers of the task, yet followed the little basket to ensure his saf...

March 17 God’s Promises: Life’s Problems

Image
Theme:  Holding on to hope during struggles. Leisa Walker  Kings SDA Scripture: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)  None of us like, pain, uncertainty, strife or frustration. We want things to go smoothly. But the challenging and miserable times are not without their aspect of good. Things happen to us during those times that are as precious as diamonds. For it is then that we can experience the Lord’s presence in a deeper way. If we embrace the moment we will see Him in it. Walking step by step with God requires embracing the moment for all its worth. When you are tempted to become fearful, frustrated, uncertain, or panic about what’s happening in your life, stop and see that God is in it. With Him, you have everything you need for this moment. Here and now. Regardless of what your situation is at the moment, God has an abundance of blessings for you. Right where you are, God is working powerfully in your life. Close you...

March 16 Anxious but Anchored

Image
Carol Nyack Shepherdess Cayman Islands Conference of SDA Theme: Trusting God when anxiety creeps in . It was a cool February evening, and I was reaching the end of my rope in more ways than one. I was partially laid up with a broken ankle, having just shattered my beautiful flowerpot. At the same time, vacuuming, and then, minutes later, discovered that my unlocked car had been ransacked during the night. I glanced at my husband resting on the sofa. He remained unbothered by my recounting of events. I then contacted our older son. While on the phone, my husband calmly said, "Ask him to come take me to the hospital." There was no complaint of pain, no urgency in his voice—just a quiet request. At this point, I knew prayer was more important than questioning.  Our son arrived, and just as my husband turned to kiss me and leave, I grabbed him to pray. On the way to the hospital, things took a drastic do...

March 15 Permission to Pause

Image
Theme:  Embracing rest without guilt. Dacia Chambers Shepherdess CIC Savannah SDA Church We are living in a world where rest; spiritual, physical and emotional, seems a distant reality. We struggle to embrace lunch hour, we find it difficult to embrace weekly rest; the Sabbath, and some may go as far as to forego their yearly vacation for various reasons. Some people think that if they slow down, the world will leave them behind: leaving them burdened with guilt. I too, have fallen into the trap of getting things done now, rest-later mentality, and I have seen where it does more harm than good to my very own body, it is in the moment of lack of rest I am more irritable, I have more headaches and just overall fatigue.   I am sure you too can relate.   As a health care worker, I have seen countless patients who admit that had they listened to their bodies sooner, diseases such as heart attack and stroke could have been prevented. The Price of Success A story ...

March 14"Choosing Joy When Life Gets Messy"

Image
Theme:  Finding Contentment in Imperfect Moments Camile Beckford Johnson Savannah SDA Church   Key Scripture : “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” James 1:2-3 (NIV) Life is messy. Plans fall apart, relationships face challenges, and unexpected struggles leave us feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. Maybe right now, you’re in a season where nothing is going the way you hoped. You’re carrying burdens no one sees, trying to hold everything together while feeling like you’re falling apart inside. I understand because I’ve been there, too. I’ve had days where the weight of responsibilities, unmet expectations, and hurtful words made joy feel out of reach. I’ve wrestled with frustration, wondering why life couldn’t just be easier. But in those moments, I’ve also seen how God meets us in the mess, how He whispers His love in the middle of chaos and offers pe...

March 13 When God Says ‘Not Yet

Image
Theme:  Patience in seasons of waiting Author: Yvette Gayle  Creek SDA Church Scripture: Genesis 15: 1-6 (NIV) After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, [a] your very great reward.[b]”2 But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit[c] my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”4 Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your flesh and blood will be your heir.” 5 He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, 'So shall your offspring[d] be.' 6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.   The saying “patience is a virtue” is widely recognized and carries a certain truth, serving as a commendable aspiration for man...

March 12 God’s Got This!

Image
Hilreth Morgan                 Kings SDA Church   Theme: Leaning on Him when life feels overwhelming Scripture: Psalm 23 vs 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. When we face the most difficult trials in life, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and even abandoned. But in moments of testing, we can hold firmly to    the truth that God’s got this. He is in control, and His love for us is steadfast. In Genesis 22, we read the story of Abraham’s faith being tested. God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his beloved son, Isaac, the son through whom God's promises were to be fulfilled. Imagine the confusion and heartache Abraham must have felt as he walked up the mountain with his son, knowing what was being asked of him. Yet, despite the intense trial, Abraham trusted in God’s plan, saying to Isaac, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering" (Gen...

March 11, No One Loves You Like He Does

Image
Theme :  Embracing God’s Love When You Feel Unworthy Arlene   Johnson  McLeod Kings SDA There are moments in life when we feel unworthy of love. Maybe it's because of mistakes we've made in the past, feelings of inadequacy, or the weight of disappointments that seem to define us. In these moments, it's easy to believe that no one could love us, or that we are too broken to be truly loved. I love my husband and I know he loves me. But God’s love is different from anything we can understand or experience on earth. The Bible tells us that God’s love for us is unconditional, unwavering, and unchanging. In Romans 5:8, it says, "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." God's love is not dependent on us being sinless. He doesn't love us because we have earned it, but simply because He is love. We don’t need to strive or perform to be loved by Him; we are loved because He created us and desires to be in a relati...

March 10 Let That Go, Sis!

Image
Sharon Campbell-Danvers Shepherdess CIC, North Side SDA Church Theme : The Power of Forgiveness in a Grudge-Holding World  "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you." — Ephesians 4:32 (KJV) Forgive? But how can I? It is much easier said than done. Do they truly understand what I have been through? Do they know the depth of the hurt and pain I have endured? Even if I forgive, how can I possibly forget?   Many of us carry unseen burdens—weights that others cannot perceive but are imprinted on our hearts, minds, and memories. We hold on to hurt, pain, and anger. Letting go feels impossible, especially when the wounds are inflicted by those closest to us. Some have been abandoned by a parent, molested, raped, neglected, or emotionally abused. Others have been beaten, falsely accused, or made to feel as though they do not belong. Can you relate? Or do you know someone who has walked this painful pa...

March 9 -The Pain Behind the Smile

Image
Trusting God through heartbreak and loss Tania Jackson Kings SDA Church Scripture: "Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness" (Proverbs 14:13). Looks can be deceiving. A few days ago, I went shopping and saw a nice bag of apples at an economical price. However, on the shelf next to it were some tempting golden apples that looked fresh, crunchy, sweet, delicious, and mouthwatering. The temptation for the big, juicy apple was so intense that it drove me to choose less for more. When I got home, I guarded my prized possession with all the security I could manage because I did not plan to share. To my utter dismay and disappointment, it was only a façade. This deception stimulated my thinking—it reminded me of someone I know. She looked bright and beautiful, but like the apple, she was rotten inside. She was always smiling, never looking sad—she was Saphira. Emotions can be very temperamental—we can quickly go from happy to sad or from...

March 8 Love Like It's Hard

Image
Theme: Showing Christ’s love in tough relationships. Jolene Whyte Kings SDA Church Matthew 5:44   “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”  Loving like Christ calls us to love isn’t always easy. It’s the kind of love that asks us to go beyond our feelings, beyond our comfort zones, and to keep loving even when it seems hard or unfair. This is the love that truly reflects Christ’s heart—a love that is patient, kind, forgiving, and never gives up. I’ve walked through a season of love that felt impossible. There was a time when I gave everything to someone I loved deeply. I sacrificed, forgave, and stayed, even when it hurt. But there came a moment when I had to make a difficult decision—one that broke my heart but was necessary for my own healing and peace. I had loved, I had forgiven, but I couldn’t keep going in the same place. It was a painful journey, but through it all, God never left me. His love held me even when I felt broken. ...

March 7 When Fear Takes the Wheel

Image
Hilreth Morgan   Kings SDA Church Theme:  How to trust God in moments of doubt. Scripture:  For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.  2 Timothy 1 vs 7 Fear is a natural response to danger, an instinct that has been woven into our very being by God. It triggers a swift reaction, preparing us to act quickly to preserve our lives. The body releases adrenaline, our hearts race, and our senses become heightened. Fear can save us, but it can also overwhelm us. At times, it takes the wheel of our hearts and minds, steering us in directions that are driven more by anxiety than by faith. We’ve all experienced moments when fear grips us. It might be a near-miss on the road or an unexpected health scare. Our knees go weak, and we feel the weight of uncertainty. In those moments, it’s easy to feel as if our lives are slipping away, or that we are constantly in survival mode. But why would God design us to feel fear in the first place? W...
