November 30: Nothing Will Hurt You

Image
Nothing Will Hurt You Key Text :  Luke 10: 19- Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Pastor Kevin A. Danvers Cayman Islands Conference  This passage reveals a staggering truth: Jesus sends ordinary disciples into a world filled with real spiritual danger, yet He speaks with emphatic certainty: "Nothing shall by any means hurt you.” In Greek this phrase contains what scholars identify as a “triple negative,” a forceful repetition that intensifies the promise. It is as if Jesus is saying, “Nothing! Nothing! Nothing!” will ever ultimately harm you. This does not mean hardship won’t come or that battles won’t bruise us. It does mean that no force of darkness can overturn what God has ordained, empowered, or protected. When Jesus gives power, He provides protection. When He gives authority, He gives covering. When He sends, He shields. His biddings are His enablings. Scripture ...

November 29: A Heart Still Learning to Heal

Image
A Heart Still Learning to Heal Key Scripture  John 14:1 (NKJV) - “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” Anonymous Writer  This verse echoes Christ’s compassion: even in moments of separation, He speaks peace to troubled hearts. Have you ever had your heart broken, and only you can see the pieces? You cried, but only you felt the tears. You kept consoling yourself, whispering, “I’ll be OK… things will be fine,” but deep within, you knew it wasn’t fine at all. A heart broken by love is never easy to mend. Especially when that love was built on history— time spent together, shared laughter, shared hope, and an undying belief that it would last. Have you ever made a decision that cost you something precious? Something that brought joy, warmth, and sunlight into my world. You told  yourself that letting go would be simple… but who were you trying to fool? When you give your heart, it is never easy to walk away. It is never easy ...

November 28: When You Don’t Know What God Is Doing

Image
When You Don’t Know What God Is Doing Key Text: Sharon Campbell-Danvers  Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church  Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Have you ever wondered what God is doing in your life? There are moments when so many thoughts fill my mind all at once. So many things puzzle me. Things happen so quickly that I hardly have time to breathe, much less understand. I try to comprehend God’s next move, His intentions for my life, and yet sometimes all I feel is… empty. What do you do in those moments of uncertainty? Moments when you have no clue what comes next? You are not alone. Scripture is full of men and women who stood in the middle of confusion, unanswered questions, and divine silence. A Biblical Example: Habakkuk Habakkuk felt exactly what many of us feel today. He looked at the world around him and asked God, “How long, Lord?” ...

November 27: Showing Christ in Everyday Action

Image
Cashema Clarke Ebenezer SDA Church Theme: Love in Action Scripture: “Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18 (ESV) There is something undeniably powerful about love that moves beyond words. We say “I love you,” “I’m praying for you,” or “I’m here for you”—and those words matter. But the truest reflection of Christ’s character is love that does something. Love that shows up. Love that acts. This kind of love doesn’t need a spotlight. It doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. It doesn’t require applause or recognition. It simply responds—quietly, faithfully, consistently—because Christ first loved us. Love That Walks, Not Just Talks When John instructs us not to love only through words but “in deed and in truth,” he is reminding us that Christian love is meant to be visible. It looks like compassion. It sounds like encouragement. It feels like kindness. And it becomes a testimony that speaks louder than any sermon we could ever preach. But if we’re honest, ...

November 26: Waiting Well

Image
Trusting God in Times of Waiting Key Text : Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) Pastor Carlon Nyack Executive Secretary, CI Conference  “But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles…” The Challenge of Waiting Let’s be honest—most people don’t like to wait. In our fast-paced world, if a YouTube video or website doesn’t load instantly, frustration sets in. We hit refresh, scroll past, or move on. Patience is in short supply. Yet, some have learned the art of waiting well. They use time wisely—reading a book, listening to music or a podcast, or engaging in something enriching while stuck in traffic or standing in line. Instead of giving in to impatience, they grow. Biblical Examples of Waiting Scripture is filled with stories of people who waited—Abraham, Joseph, the Israelites. They endured long seasons before God’s promises were fulfilled. But through the waiting, they learned to trust Him. We too must learn to wait well. Waiting isn’t passiv...

November 25: Gentle Giants

Gentle Giants Key Text: Exodus 18 verse 22 They will help you carry the burden so that the work will be lighter for you. When Moses first stepped into leadership he tried to manage everything alone. The needs of the people were great, and the responsibilities of ministry were heavy. Soon he became overwhelmed. But God provided wisdom. Through the counsel of Jethro, Moses was reminded that leadership was never meant to be carried by one person. God instructed him to appoint faithful men who would stand with him and help bear the load. This principle still guides the church today. God created a structure that invites collaboration and shared responsibility. The work of Redemption is too significant for any one person to do alone. Yet within this structure there is a group of leaders whose silent strength often goes unnoticed. Their dedication is deep, their service is steady, and their commitment reflects the heart of Christ. I speak of the Assistant Pastors. In other words, the F...

November 24: A Brotherhood That Builds

Image
Men Supporting in Ministry Second Corinthians 1 verse 24 “We work with you for your joy.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers  In the Central Jamaica Conference there was a unique and lasting demonstration of godly leadership and mutual support that deeply impacted me. I observed from a distance the leadership relationship between the President and the Executive Secretary, Pastor Everette Brown and Pastor Levi Johnson. What I saw was not ordinary. It was a spiritual partnership built on love, respect, openness, understanding, and faith. What stood out to me was how different these two leaders were. Each had his own personality, his own strengths, and his own leadership style. Yet instead of competing, they complemented each other. Their differences became strengths. Their unity became a witness. Pastor Johnson supported his President with honour and integrity. He understood the heart of servant leadership. He knew what it meant to lift another leader the way Aaron supported Moses. He s...

November 23: Purpose Driven Mentor

Image
Mentoring Younger Men in the Faith Second Timothy 2 verse 2 “Entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers  Kings SDA Church, Cayman Islands When I think back on our years of ministry in Jamaica, I am reminded of the quiet strength of influence and the deep power of mentorship. Pastor Levi Johnson was not only a President. He became a mentor, a guide, and a father in the faith. There were times when he gave Kevin assignments that even I questioned. Why this task? Why this case? Why this situation? Over time the answer became clear. He was preparing him. He was shaping him. He was training him for the future that God had already seen. Pastor Johnson understood something that every true spiritual leader must embrace. Ministry does not end with us. It continues long after we are gone. God calls us not only to serve but to raise up others who will carry the work forward. Like Paul poured into Timothy, Pastor Johnson poured into Kev...

November 22: Brotherhood

Image
Building Brotherhood in the Church Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers  In many churches, women naturally form friendships and support circles with ease. Their sense of connection often feels immediate, warm, and flowing. But for men, the process of bonding can look different. It is slower, quieter, and sometimes more guarded. Yet when men do form deep friendships, those bonds are often strong, loyal, and lifelong. More than 20 years ago, my husband introduced me to his best friend. They met while studying at Northern Caribbean University, both preparing for ministry. They endured challenges together, encouraged each other through long nights of study, and supported one another through the highs and lows of their calling. Their friendship was forged in the fires of shared struggle and strengthened by their shared faith. Years later, his best friend made a surprising decision. He entered politics. It was an unexpected shi...

November 21: Traffic Love

Image
Love in Action—Even in Traffic 1 John 3:18 – “Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers  Kings SDA Church Each day, Jesus moved with intention. Whether He was teaching, healing, or simply walking through towns, He looked for opportunities to show love in practical ways. His compassion wasn’t confined to sermons or conversations—it showed up in the ordinary moments of everyday life. Many of us move through daily routines almost on autopilot: we leave home, go to work, return, and repeat. It’s easy to assume that meaningful acts of love only happen in big moments, during ministry events, or when we plan something special. But God often invites us to demonstrate His love right in the middle of our ordinary rhythms—yes, even in traffic. Recently, I sat in a long line of cars. A driver coming from the opposite direction needed space to exit a side road. Instead of blocking the way, I paused and allowed her through, along with two other vehic...

November 20: The Blessing of Hard Work

Image
Corry Chambers Women’s Ministries Director, CIC Theme:  Work Unto the Lord. Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” There is something sacred about hard work—especially when it’s done with a heart that seeks to honor God. Colossians 3:23 reminds us that every task, whether great or small, becomes an act of worship when we do it as unto the Lord. Work ceases to be ordinary; it becomes holy. I’m reminded of a moment years ago when we lived in Green Island, Hanover. Many of you already know that my husband has a green thumb. Truly—if it can be planted, he will plant it! One season in 2007, he tilled the soil in our front yard and planted a variety of crops: corn, potatoes, gungo peas—anything the land would receive. One afternoon, as I was working in the kitchen, I heard him call out, “Corry, look at this!” I stepped outside to find him beaming from ear to ear, his joy overflowing. In his hands was the largest sweet potato I had ever seen—a...

November 19: HEMMED IN BY HIS LOVE

Image
2 Corinthians 5:14 — “For the love of Christ constraineth us.” Pastor Kevin Anthony Danvers  Cayman Islands Conference  Paul uses a remarkable word when he says the love of Christ “constraineth” us. The Greek sunakō is far richer than our English translation. It describes a powerful force that surrounds, secures, directs, and preserves, like a traveler in a narrow gorge, pressed in by rock walls on both sides, unable to turn aside, only forward. This is how God’s love guides the believer: not to restrict us, but to keep us on His perfect path. When life feels chaotic, sunakō reminds us that God’s love is the force holding everything together. When our will weakens or obedience falters, it is the compelling pull of divine love that moves us in the direction God desires. The word also conveys being tightly held, enclosed, gripped, encircled, or even kept in protective custody. We are not holding God nearly as securely as God is holding us. His love presses us forward and ...

November 18: Being a Godly Father

Image
“The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.” Proverbs 20:7 A Godly Father It is not enough to be a good father. God requires us to be Godly fathers. Elder Edgar Bennett Savannah SDA Church A Godly father is a man who is faithful to God, consistently guides his children according to biblical principles and commands the respect of his family, church and community. He is a loving husband, a gospel worker and a law-abiding citizen. He provides, protects and petitions the throne of God on behalf of his family. As fathers our responsibility goes beyond providing instruction and being a good example. God expects us to apply restraint both as fathers and priests to prevent our children from being wayward. Similarly, our duty does not end when our children become adults. Prayer alone, however fervent, is not sufficient to deter them from a perverse course. Providing mild admonitions or remaining silent when we have knowledge of their persistent wrongdoing is sy...

November 17: Waiting Well

Image
Br. Dexter Williams  Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church  Scripture : “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) There are seasons in our lives when it seems as if everything is at a standstill. We pray, we hope, we look forward to change, yet the door just does not open. Waiting is not always comfortable. In fact, waiting often reveals the deep places within us; our fears, our doubts, our impatience, and sometimes our frustration with God Himself. I experienced such a season when I longed to attend college. The desire was strong, but every step toward it seemed blocked. No acceptance. No progress. I began to wonder if perhaps it simply wasn’t God’s will. But God’s message to my heart was not no, it was wait. In His perfect timing, He opened the way, and I began college on August 28, 2000. However, just days later, I celeb...

November 16: The Power of Love

Image
The Power of Love: Becoming the Good Samaritan Scripture: Luke 10:36-37 KJV Br. Machel Sampson [36] Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? [37] And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise. The parable of the Good Samaritan is one of Jesus’ most powerful lessons because it reveals the heart of true discipleship and it directly challenges us as men. A man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho is attacked, beaten, and left barely alive. As he lies there wounded, two respected leaders, a priest and a Levite, see him but choose to walk away. They had titles, training, and status, yet their hearts were unmoved. Their silence and distance teach us something important: it is possible to look religious yet lack compassion. Then Jesus introduces an unexpected hero, a Samaritan. Someone society looked down on. Someone no Jew expected to do anything noble. Yet it is this man who stops, kneels, band...

November 15: Check the Engine: A Call for Men to Pause and Refuel

Image
Kings Seventh-day Adventist  Scripture Focus: “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.” — 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NIV) Men sometimes can be like cars. They keep driving, pushing forward, taking on responsibilities, working long hours, and carrying the weight of family, career, and life. The engine keeps running, the wheels keep turning, but somewhere along the journey, the warning lights start to blink. The truth is, too many men drive through life without checking the parts. No time for spiritual maintenance. No pause for rest or reflection. No oil change for the heart. Until something breaks down. A good car needs regular servicing. The oil must be changed, the tires rotated, the engine checked, and the tank refueled. In the same way, a man of God must pause to inspect his spiritual condition. How is your prayer life? How healthy is your marriage? How is your connection with God? Ignoring the signs doesn’t make the problem go away; it only makes the...

November 14: “Leading Your Home with God’s Wallet”

Image
Theme:  Managing Finances God’s Way Scripture Focus: Anonymous Writer Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church  “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.” — Proverbs 3:9 (NIV) Reflection: What does money management look like in your family? Who usually has better control of things? Who is more disciplined when it comes to saving, giving, and spending? Every family has its rhythm when it comes to finances, and often, money becomes a quiet source of tension. But God never intended for money to control us. He intended for us to steward it wisely as a tool for His glory and our growth. As men, we carry the weight of providing, planning, and protecting. Yet God calls us to manage finances not through pride or pressure, but through principle and partnership with Him. True financial success begins with surrender. When we manage money God’s way, we acknowledge that everything we have comes from Him and belongs to Him. That means before the bills, ...

November 13: Living with Eternity on Their Minds

Image
Scripture Focus : “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” — Colossians 3:2 (NIV) Sharon Campbell-Danvers  The mind is a powerful place. For many men, it is a battlefield filled with competing thoughts such as work deadlines, family responsibilities, finances, contracts, health, and the uncertain plans for tomorrow. Every day feels like a balancing act between provision, purpose, and peace. But in the midst of all this noise, where does God fit? Where does eternity fit? It is easy to let the urgent overshadow the eternal. Yet, the Word of God calls us to set our minds on things above. That means living today with tomorrow, God’s tomorrow, in mind. A man who lives with eternity in view does not waste his days chasing what fades. He measures success not by what he gains, but by what he gives. Jesus asked, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?” ( Mark 8:36 ). That question pierces through every distraction. It forces us to consider what...

November 12: Shaking to Stand Strong

Image
Shaking to Stand Strong Key Text: “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” — Hebrews 12:26 Sharon Campbell-Danvers  North Side SDA Church As I sat experiencing the onset of what is dubbed the Christmas breeze, a number of thoughts flooded my mind. Is there a purpose for the shaking? I noticed that both my heavily laden plantains fell. Thank God they were almost ready for the table. Then it dawned on me that indeed there is a purpose. It is in the shaking that roots are strengthened, seeds scattered, and other things realigned. Similarly, in our Christian walk, God sometimes allows a shaking—moments that unsettle us, challenge our comfort, or cause certain things to fall away. Yet, in those very moments, He is strengthening our spiritual roots, spreading our influence, and preparing us for fruitfulness. The shaking is not meant to destroy us, but to deepen our dependence on Him. Just as the wind serves a purpose in nature, so the storms in ...

November 11: Love Like Jesus

Image
Loving Your Wife as Christ Loved the Church Topic : Love Like Jesus Scripture : Ephesians 5:25 – “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” Br. Robert McLoed Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church As I read through Ephesians 5:25, I paused and asked myself:  1.How did Christ love the church?  2. Am I truly loving my wife in that way? Christ’s love wasn’t inactive. It wasn’t halfway. He didn’t love only when it was convenient, comfortable, or when He was receiving something in return. Christ loved with sacrifice. His love was patient, forgiving, enduring, and filled with purpose. He didn’t just say “I love you”—He showed it with His life. When I think of Jacob working fourteen years just to have Rachel (Genesis 29), I see a love that’s willing to invest. When I think of Hosea taking back Gomer (Hosea 3), I see a love that forgives without keeping score. When I see Christ kneeling to wash His disciples’ feet (John 13), I see a love th...

November 10: First Things First

Image
Key Text: But seek ye first the kingdom of God , and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 . I have come to realize that we live in constant pursuit. What we are Dr. Terry Ann Robinson,   Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church pursuing may differ, for some, it may be higher education, a skill, a job, a promotion, a house, a car, or money. For others, it may be a relationship, marriage, or children. Others may be seeking happiness, peace, or a sound mind. Still others may be seeking to be healthy or to have a toned body. Many may be seeking a combination of these, along with other items on a list too long to share.  While we are busy seeking all these things, we see higher levels of anxiety and depression. The World Health Organization reported a 25% increase in the prevalence of anxiety and depression since 2019. There is an increase in mental health challenges even among children. Matthew 6 provides us with the recipe for the success...
