Who Pastors the Pastor?

Image
Who Pastors the Pastor? Galatians 6:2 (KJV) “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers  Shepherdess  Recently, I have been reflecting deeply on many of the situations facing pastoral families in our church and other denominations. As I look at where God has brought me from and consider the times in which we are living, I have become more reflective and more understanding. Yet, I realize that not everyone has reached this place of awareness. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to speak with many shepherdesses and pastors, and many of them struggle more than people realize. When you place yourself on the front lines of the battle for Christ, the attacks will be fierce. Satan will come against the church, and he will often target pastors’ families and children. When these areas are weakened, the influence and effectiveness of the pastor can be deeply impacted. Personally, I have wrestled with the level of support and mentoring...

January 31 — Stepping Into February with Confidence

Image
Stepping Into February with Confidence   Key Text: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6  Arlene Johnson-McLeod  Kings Seventh-day Adventsit Church As we step into a new month, it’s easy to carry the weight of doubts, unfinished goals, or past mistakes. But God reminds us through Paul that the work He started in our lives is not abandoned—it is ongoing and purposeful. Every step, every struggle, and every small victory is part of His plan to shape us into the people He created us to be. Confidence doesn’t mean we won’t face challenges—it means trusting that God is at work even when we can’t see the full picture. We have completed the first month of 2026- WITH GOD!   Say it with me  “ I will trust God to take me forward boldly, knowing that He is the same God who started a good work in me and will faithfully continue it.” My friend Marcia had been out o...

January 30: He Restores My Soul

Image
He Restores My Soul Scripture: Psalm 23:3 He restores my soul …… NKJV Junene Brown Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church A few weeks ago, after leaving home and getting on the road, I noticed my battery was at 10%. I watched it slowly drain—5%, then 2%. Soon, my phone, which was in good condition and working perfectly fine, became completely unusable. I had no charger and no power bank, which was unusual for me because I normally make sure I am prepared. The screen shortly went dark. The apps would not open. No matter how many times I tapped it, it would not respond. The phone was not broken; it was simply drained. Many of us are like that phone. We are running on 2%, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally, we are drained. Yet we still show up to church, to work, and to our daily responsibilities. We smile. We function. We get through the day. But inside, we are depleted. Our patience is thin. Our joy feels distant. Even simple tasks feel heavy. Psalm 23:3 says, “He restores my sou...

January 29: Blackmore to reach out

January 28: “Held, Helped, and Strengthened”

Image
“Held, Helped, and Strengthened” Theme: Strength to Stand, Grace to Grow Ephesians 6:10 (KJV)  “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church Founder-Daughters Arise Ministries This verse reminds us that our strength does not come from ourselves, but from the Lord. When we rely on His power, we are able to stand firm, overcome challenges, and continue growing in faith, no matter what we face. A few months ago, a friend gave me two baby rabbits. When I received them, I noticed that one of the rabbits was walking with a limp. As I looked at her, I realized that not many people would want her, so I told the lady, “That’s the one I want.” She was a bit uncertain because of the limp, but I had already purposed in my heart that she was coming home with me. I fell in love with her instantly. Later, when she had a baby, I noticed that the baby also walked with a limp. I was concerned about how she w...

January 27: Surrendered Hands, Available Heart

Image
Surrendered Hands, Available Heart   Key Text:  “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” — Isaiah 6:8  Arlene Johnson-McLoed Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church There comes a moment in every believer’s life when God’s call is less about ability and more about availability. Isaiah’s response did not begin with confidence or qualifications—it began with surrender. Standing in God’s presence, he simply offered himself. That willingness opened the door for God to work powerfully through his life. I once spoke with someone who felt God nudging them to encourage a coworker they barely knew. They hesitated—worried it would feel awkward or unnecessary—but finally obeyed. That short conversation turned out to be exactly what the coworker needed during a difficult season. It wasn’t planned or polished, just obedience. That’s how God often works: through small, surrendered “yes” moments that have lasti...

January 26: “The Missing Hose”

Image
Theme:   Empowered for Purpose Acts 1:8 (KJV)  “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers Kings Seventh-day Adventist Church I once had a car that I truly loved. My silver Honda was so faithful that I called her Betsy. When I went on vacation, I loaned her to a friend. A few days later, she called and said Betsy was not moving as fast as she should. Eventually, she had to park her. When I returned, I was told Betsy needed a specific part. It took months for that part to arrive in the Cayman Islands. Betsy was parked under the ackee tree for protection, unable to move. She had oil and all the other parts, but she was missing one small hose. When the part finally arrived, life was restored to my beloved car, and she began to drive again with full power. That story reflects the true essence...

January 25:Let the Word Be Your Guide

Image
Let the Word Be Your Guide Psalm 119:105-  “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers Kings Seventh-Day Adventist Church This verse reminds us that God’s Word gives direction, clarity, and guidance for daily living. Just as a lamp lights the way in darkness, Scripture helps us see where to step, what to avoid, and how to move forward in faith. How many of us can remember our former Adventist Youth programmes, where young people and the entire church would study the Morning Watch texts during the week and then recite them on Sabbath? Those activities created excitement and even healthy competition. Back then, we did not have so many phones. The physical Bible was our reference book. We played Sword in Hand, racing to find chapters and verses, and that, too, brought great enthusiasm. Those Scriptures became etched in our minds, grounding us in the Word and helping us retain it as we grew older. Today, with technology at our fingertips, the...

January 24 -Strengthened in the Secret Place

Image
Key Text: “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then  your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” — Matthew 6:6 Dr. Terry-Ann Robinson  Kings SDA Church  When Gavin and I started dating, we spent hours talking. We met at the University of Technology—he lived on campus, and I commuted from home for classes. During holiday breaks, when school was not in session, we would spend hours on the phone. It was during this time that we both got our first cell phones—a flip phone for me and a Nokia 3310 for him. That’s when we talked even more. Sometimes, I would fall asleep while still on the call! The transition to mobile phones meant we no longer had to talk in the public space of the living room where our parents’ landline was. Now, we could talk freely, share our hearts, and connect deeply without distractions—as long as we had credit. Jesus invites us into that same kind of conversation ...

January 23: Courage for the Unknown

Image
COURAGE FOR THE UNKNOWN Psalm 27:1: 'The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall, I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?' Sis Angela Hall Community Services Leader Cayman Islands Conference  The unknown has a way of shaking even the strongest hearts. It asks questions we cannot answer and reveals paths we cannot predict. Yet amid uncertainty, God offers us something far greater than clarity—He offers Himself. Psalm 27:1 reminds us that courage is born not from knowing what lies ahead, but from knowing Who walks beside us. Testimony Reflection: There was a season in my life when everything felt unstable. Plans collapsed, relationships shifted, and the security I once relied on seemed to disappear overnight. I remember praying, Lord, I do not know where to go from here.’ I expected God to give me a detailed map, but instead, He gave me something better—His steady presence. Little by little, I discovered that courage does not always roar. ...

January 22: He Renews Your Spirit Daily

Image
He Renews Your Spirit Daily   Key Text: “Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” — 2 Corinthians 4:16  Arlene Johnson-McLoed There are days when life feels heavier than it should, when your body is tired, your emotions are stretched thin, and your faith feels quieter than usual, yet this verse reminds us that God is always working beneath the surface, doing something deeper than what our eyes can see. Paul does not deny exhaustion or hardship; instead, he acknowledges that wear and tear are part of being human, but he shifts our focus to a powerful truth: while the outside may feel worn down, God is faithfully renewing our spirit every single day, even on the days we feel unchanged or unnoticed. This renewal is not always loud or dramatic; often it shows up as quiet strength to keep going, peace that doesn’t make sense, or hope that refuses to die. When we lean into God daily, He refreshes us...

January 21: Strength in Stillness

Image
Corry Chambers, CIC Women’s Ministries Director “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14 Silence is often mistaken for weakness. In a world that rewards quick comebacks, loud defenses, and constant explanations, choosing to be still can feel uncomfortable—even risky. Yet there are moments when the Holy Spirit gently urges us not to react, not to speak, not to act, but to stand still and trust God to move. Many of us have found ourselves in those moments—at work when we are misunderstood or unfairly treated, in relationships where words could escalate rather than heal, and even in the church, where hurt can tempt us to defend ourselves rather than surrender the situation to God. Stillness in these moments is not passivity; it is obedience. The words of Exodus 14:14 were spoken during one of the most terrifying moments in Israel’s history. The Israelites stood trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s advancing army. Fear gripped them. They cried out, c...

January 20: New Mercies, New Grace

Image
New Mercies, New Grace Lamentations 3:22–23:  “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Sharon Campbvell-Danvers Kings Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Cayman Islands Sometimes, as a parent, I wish I did not have to repeat the same corrections to my children every day. I wish they would hear it once, understand it, and change. Yet in reality, each day I must gently remind them what is required to walk according to God’s ways and to live as obedient children. Then I look at my own life. What if God took that same approach with me? What if He gave me one lifetime supply of grace and compassion with conditions attached? I am sure I would use it up in less than a month. That is why I must go to God daily for a fresh portion of compassion, love, and grace. According to this Scripture, it is only because of His mercy that I am not consumed. Every day I can rely on new mercies beca...

January 19: Released to Rise

Image
Corry Chambers, Women’s Ministries Director, CIC Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Rising often requires releasing. Hebrews 12:1 reminds us that before we can run well, we must first let go of what hinders us. God is not asking us to lose anything valuable—but to release what keeps us grounded when He is calling us higher.  Consider a parachute. When a skydiver is descending, the parachute is essential—it slows the fall and provides safety. But imagine trying to rise back into the sky while still attached to an open parachute. The very thing that once helped would now prevent upward movement. To rise, the parachute must be released. Spiritually, many of us are trying to rise while holding on to things God never intended for the next phase of our journey.   As Seventh-day Adventist...

January 18: Strength to Choose Well

Image
Strength to Choose Well Key Text: Joshua 24:15 — “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Arlene Johnson-McLoed Every day we make choices—some small, some life-shaping. Most of them don’t feel spiritual. They show up in how we respond when we’re tired, what we allow into our minds, how we treat people when no one is watching, and what we lean on when life feels heavy. Joshua’s words remind us that choosing God is not a one-time declaration; it is a daily decision. Joshua spoke these words near the end of his life. He had seen victories, failures, miracles, and moments of deep fear. He knew that faith could not survive on yesterday’s commitment. That is why he said,  “Choose this day.”  Not tomorrow. Not when life slows down. Today. Choosing well is not always easy. Sometimes the right choice costs us comfort, approval, or immediate relief. Serving the Lord often means walking against what feels easier or ...

January 17: When Obedience Opens Doors

Image
Corry Chambers, Women’s Ministries Director, CIC Isaiah 1:19 “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”   Growing up, I always tried to demonstrate obedience and respect, especially toward adults. One childhood memory has stayed with me over the years. I had a grand-uncle who would occasionally travel from America and bring clothes for one of my siblings and me. The clothes were not always the most fashionable for our age, but whenever he handed them to me, I received them graciously. I said thank you, smiled, and never expressed disappointment. My sibling, however, reacted very differently. He openly and categorically expressed his disapproval of the clothing—commenting on how unfashionable or unsuitable they were. Over time, my grand-uncle seemed to take note. He found it more favourable to connect with me. On his subsequent visits, he would often squeeze a few dollars into my hand and remark, half-jokingly but very clearly, that he had “nothi...

January 16: Standing Firm in a New Year

Image
Standing Firm in a New Year Evadney Harding Scripture Reference: 1 Corinthians 15:13 As we enter a new year, we are reminded that our faith stands on a solid foundation. “If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised” (1 Corinthians 15:13). Paul makes it clear that everything we believe is anchored in the truth that Christ is alive. Because Jesus was raised, our hope is real, steady, and unshakable—even when life feels uncertain. I remember being afraid of storms and floods as a child. During a serious flood in June one year, I stood close to my grandmother as heavy rain fell and water ran through the house. She stayed calm as we scooped water out and told me the house was strong enough to withstand the flood (Earlier that year, she had a workman dig a trench to lead water away from the back of the house). Her confidence helped me feel safe. The rain stopped, and the flood waters passed, but what stayed with me was the assurance that the foundation...

January 15: God Goes Before You

Image
God Goes Before You Key Text : “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Deuteronomy 31:8 Anonymous Contributor There are moments in life when God calls us to step into roles that feel far beyond our abilities. The assignment seems overwhelming, the people unfamiliar, and the responsibility daunting. Our first instinct might be to say, “No, I’m not ready.” But when God calls, He equips—and He goes before us. I remember facing such a moment. I applied for a job, and during the interview, I realized I was being interviewed to lead the department, not to work in it. I was asked to lead a department of people I didn’t know in an organization I was just joining. I felt completely unprepared. My heart was filled with doubt, and I was ready to decline. Then I spoke to my dad, who reminded me of this promise from Deuteronomy 31:8: “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Tho...

January 14: Your Strength Will Rise Again

Image
Your Strength Will Rise Again Key Text:  Isaiah 40:29 (KJV)  “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” Sharon Campbell-Danvers  Kngs Seventh-day Adventist Church In primary and high school, I was known as Juice! I was a fast and successful athlete, often competing in multiple races such as heats, semifinals, and finals all in one meet. By the time I reached the finish line, my body would be completely spent, my legs trembling, my breath shallow, and my strength almost gone. There were moments when I felt as if I would faint, silently praying for a miracle just to carry me through the last few steps. That place of total exhaustion tired, weak, and empty taught me something powerful about life and love: sometimes the greatest victories are not about speed or strength, but about what carries us when we have nothing left to give. There are moments in life when we feel completely drained—emotionally, spiritually, and physically. W...

January 13: Let God Lift the Heavy Things

Image
Let God Lift the Heavy Things Scripture : 1 Peter 5:7 — “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” Arlene Johnson-McLeod  Life has a way of placing weight on our hearts. Responsibilities, uncertainties, disappointments, and fears can slowly pile up until we find ourselves exhausted, anxious, and overwhelmed. Many times, we carry these burdens silently, believing it is our responsibility to figure everything out. Yet Scripture gently reminds us that God never intended for us to bear these heavy things alone. In 1 Peter 5:7, we are instructed to cast all our anxiety on God. This is not a suggestion—it is an invitation rooted in love. God knows the weight we are carrying, and He cares deeply about every detail of our lives. When we hold onto anxiety, we are attempting to manage what only God can truly handle. But when we release our worries into His hands, we acknowledge our dependence on Him and trust in His ability to sustain us. Letting God lift the heavy things requi...
